After a one-two punch from Old Man Winter, Henry County General Govt Offices will resume normal office hours this morning, Jan 17. Henry County received 4-6 inches of snow and frozen rain early Friday morning and County Mayor Brent Greer decided to close county offices to keep citizens and employees at home safe. Monday, Jan 15 was Martin Luther King Holiday so offices were already scheduled to be closed, however another 4 inch snow added to the already frozen conditions early Tuesday Morning. The decision was made to again close due to hazardous travel conditions. Offices will reopen this morning at normal times. Henry County Recycling will run on a limited pickup schedule due to remaining icy road conditions and resume normal pickup as the temperatures rebound above freezing.
The Henry County commission scheduled for 5 pm Tuesday has been rescheduled for next Monday, January 22, 2018.
