Henry County Government Facilities to Limit Public Access
(Paris, TN) Henry County General Government officials met today to discuss the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the state of Tennessee and the impact it is having on Henry County.
Due to current CDC recommendations, county officials decided to implement precautions to limit public access to county facilities.
Henry County Mayor Brent Greer said, “We want our citizens to know county services will remain available, however, there could be an inconvenience due to limited access to some offices and services. This plan will greatly reduce Coronavirus exposure to both our employees and to the public.”
County officials are asking the public to call ahead of any visit to county facilities for instruction of alternative service methods such as over the phone service requests, online payment options, credit card payments by phone , or to arrange for an office visit to conduct needed business. Both the Courthouse and Courthouse Annex will have drop boxes available for the public to drop off correspondence for any office.
All doors to the Courthouse and the Courthouse Annex will be locked during business hours and access will only be available through the front entrances of both facilities off Washington Street.
Other county facilities with limited lobby access are the Airport, Henry County Highway Dept, Central Community Service Building, Election Office, County Archives, Paris Henry County Library, and Henry County Recycling Center. County emergency response and essential services will continue to provide services as needed.
Ron Watkins, Henry County Solid Waste Director, adds, Henry County Recycling will continue pickup services of cardboard, however to limit exposure, drive up service at the building will suspended at this time. We are asking the pubic who bring material to the center to now use the after hour drop off area at the front gate. All other customers are asked to call the Recycling Center for instruction for other services such as electronics, paint, used oil, and paper shredding. County trash pickup services will not be affected at this time.
