Henry County Emergency Management will host a Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Meeting on July 6, 2017 at 10AM.
Henry County Emergency Management will begin the process of updating our County Hazard Mitigation Plan that will expire in 2018.
This process should involve local officials with all municipalities and county government, schools, utilities, local industry, and health care in Henry County.
Our local plan is responsible for evaluating local hazards and developing recommendations to lessen the impact of these hazards. Past successes for having an approved plan is the award of Federal Mitigation Grants for local Tornado Shelters at our schools. Mitigation grant funding is tied to having an approved Hazard mitigation Plan.
The process will require representatives from all incorporated local governments within Henry County and representatives from above mention entities to meet around 3 times in the coming 3 months to discuss and develop our plan.
Brent Phillips with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency will assist us in the development of this plan and the meetings should take about an hour.
Our fist meeting will be Thursday, July 6th at 10AM at the EMA office on 204 N. Brewer St in Paris.
