On December 28, Reggie Caldwell (left) shakes the hand of Henry County maintenance supervisor Kenneth Charles, who has retired at the end of December after nearly 20 years as the go-to guy for nearly every kind of upkeep, repair or renovations needed on Henry County-owned buildings. Many of those attending his retirement celebration at the Henry County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon donned his wardrobe trademark — yellow tape measure suspenders — in his honor. County Mayor Brent Greer presented him with the Loyal Patriot award and among other gifts, he was given a plaque with his traditional saying on it, “If it’s broke, I fix it.”
