Household Hazardous Waste

The Henry County Recycling Center along with the Tennessee Dept. of Environment and Conservation hosts an annual collection event for household hazardous waste.

Next HHW Event: September 12, 2026

Saturday, 8AM – 12PM • Free Disposal

What is Household Hazardous Waste? Corrosive, flammable, toxic, or reactive materials used in your home, vehicle, garden, or on your lawn.

Why should I properly dispose of hazardous waste? Improperly stored hazardous products in the home may increase the risk of poisoning or injury. Disposing of hazardous waste in ordinary trash may injure sanitation workers because some products are chemically incompatible and may cause fires in dumpsters or garbage trucks.
