TN Dept of Workforce Development Workshop Planned

A workshop will be held on September 20, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM in the courtroom on the 2nd Floor of the Henry County Courthouse. This presentation will explore various state and federal resources and programs available through American Job Centers. These resources are designed to assist individuals with education and training, especially those facing barriers such as a felony conviction, to secure meaningful employment. Depending on eligibility and individual needs, these programs may offer support for training expenses, job placement, childcare, and travel reimbursement.

The workshop will cover services offered by programs such as Adult Education, SNAP Employment and Training, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and Vocational Rehabilitation. Additionally, we have a representative who specializes in assisting veterans. At the American Job Center, we also offer support with resume writing, job applications, interview preparation, and office skills.

This presentation is open to anyone in the judicial community as well as those outside it who are interested in learning how individuals with criminal records can access employment opportunities.
